Bio:
Taylor Branch is the author of many books and articles, including Parting the Waters: America in the King Years, 1954-63 and Pillar of Fire: America in the King Years, 1963-65. Branch received a five-year MacArthur Foundation Fellowship in 1991 and the National Humanities Medal from President William J. Clinton in 1999. He lives in Baltimore with his wife Christina Macy.
