Bio: Renowned civil rights attorney Kathryn Kolbert is President of People For the American Way (PFAW), a nationwide activist organization, and its affiliated PFAW Foundation. Before joining PFAW, she oversaw a program on law and American life at the University of Pennsylvania’s Annenberg Public Policy Center, where she was Executive Producer of NPR's “Justice Talking,” an award-winning public radio show, and oversaw Justice Learning, an educational website that won a 2005 Webby Award. In 1992, she argued before the U.S. Supreme Court in Planned Parenthood v. Casey, which preserved a woman’s constitutional right to reproductive choice. Kolbert co-founded the Center for Reproductive Law and Policy and has a long career as a public interest attorney.
