Bio:
John Podesta is the president and chief executive officer of the Center for American Progress. Podesta served as chief of staff to President William J. Clinton from 1998 until 2001. He also served as both assistant to the president and deputy chief of staff from 1997 to 1998. From January 1993 to 1995, he was sssistant to the president, staff secretary and a senior policy adviser. Podesta is currently a visiting professor of law on the faculty of the Georgetown University Law Center.
