Gloria Totten
Gloria Totten took the helm as executive director of Progressive Majority, a political action committee, in May 2001. Prior to that, she served as political director of the National Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League. At NARAL, she ran a multi-million dollar department budget and was responsible for all the electoral and political organizing work, as well as managing NARAL’s 27 state affiliates. She devised all of NARAL’s advocacy campaigns, including numerous ballot initiative campaigns, legislative battles and the Stop Ashcroft! Campaign in 2001. She volunteers at My Sister’s Place, a battered women’s shelter in Washington, D.C., and currently serves on the board of directors at the Bridge Builders Fund and at the Ballot Initiative Strategy Center.
